Kankesanthurai Port or KKS Port, located in the northern region of Sri Lanka, is spread over an area of 16 acres and is 104 kilometers away from Karaikal Port in Puducherry. The direct passenger ship service connecting Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu to Kankesanthurai port near Jaffna covers a distance of 111 kilometers in about three and a half hours. “Considering the importance of this project, the Government of India has agreed to bear the entire estimated cost of the project,” the statement said.
