Israel Hamas War Biggest Anti-govt Benjamin Netanyahu Protests Tel Aviv Demand Elections Return Of Hostages

Many months have passed since the Israel-Hamas war started and till now Israel has neither been able to achieve victory over Hamas nor has it been able to free its hostages from Hamas’s control. This is the reason why now the patience of the people of Israel is also running out. Thousands of people held anti-government protests in many parts of Israel on Saturday night. During this time there was a lot of commotion. The protesters demanded new elections in the country and the return of hostages from Gaza. According to Israeli media, many celebrities took part in the protests, including David Grossman, one of Israel’s most famous writers, and Yuval Diskin, the former head of the Israeli intelligence agency Shin Bet.

‘Netanyahu is the country’s most unsuccessful Prime Minister’

During the protest held on Kaplan Street in Tel Aviv, David Grossman read a poem and appealed to the people to protest against the government. Former Shin Bet head Yuval Diskin described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as ‘the worst and most unsuccessful prime minister in the state’s history’. Diskin served as head of the Shin Bet intelligence agency from 2005 to 2011. Diskin demanded holding elections in the country as soon as possible.

‘For several weeks, I declined requests to join the protests,’ Diskin said. I was feeling that the time had not yet come, that perhaps it was not right to change governments during the war, and that unity was the most important thing, but every day I found myself convinced of the uselessness of the government, the failed management of the war, the lies of complete victory, “I am appalled by the complete avoidance of responsibility, the destruction of our strategic relationship with the United States, and perhaps most of all, the missed opportunity to return our kidnapped brothers and sisters who languish in Hamas captivity in Gaza.”
