We all have felt the pressure while working in a corporate set-up. In some jobs there is a lot of pressure to meet deadlines. Many people are heard saying that they have to put their job ahead of everything else. They sometimes had to finish work while on leave, return in cabs or metro, hold meetings while travelling, work overtime, odd hours and on weekends. A similar situation was described in a recent post on X.
12 hours duty
Speaking on X, a woman claimed that her job, taking up more than 12 hours of her time every day, made her feel like she had no ‘self-love’ left. The woman wrote, “Corporate is literally taking up 12 hours of my time a day including travel and I just come home and sleep. It’s scary because it feels productive but it’s like a dead puppet with no hobbies or There is no self-love.”
this is how the whole day passes
In a tweet replying to a user’s comment, the woman revealed her entire day’s schedule. She wrote, “I wake up at 6 in the morning, get ready and leave for office by 7:30 so that I can reach by 9:30, I leave office at 6 in the evening, sometimes 6:30 pm, sometimes 7 pm, then I come back home and reach there by 9:15 pm, then I have dinner by 9:45/10 pm, then I go to sleep at 11 pm. ”
corporate is literally taking 12 hours of my time in a day including traveling and all I do is come home and sleep. This is scary because it looks productive but it's like being a dead puppet with no hobbies or self love.
