The former cricketer himself had once given details of his community kitchen while talking about it. He said, “The cost of a community kitchen is Rs 5 lakh per month. Because you feed 1 thousand people every day for 1 rupee. The cost of 5 kitchens became Rs 25 lakh. Transportation to manage 5 kitchens and everything else is Rs 5 lakh more. The monthly expenditure was Rs 30 lakh. 30X12 years comes to Rs 3.6 crores. But when I see food going into the stomachs of those 5 thousand people, it gives me immense happiness.

Taking his point forward, Gambhir said, “If I close 5 community kitchens today, I can spend that Rs 3.50 crore on my branding, social media or other PR agencies.” But this is not how I want to live my life.
Gambhir’s cricket career
Talking about Gautam Gambhir’s international cricket career, he managed to play 242 matches for the country. This includes 58 Tests, 147 ODIs and 37 T20 matches. Gambhir’s bat has scored 4154 runs in 104 innings of Test cricket at an average of 41.95, 5238 runs in 143 innings of ODI at an average of 39.68 and 932 runs in 36 innings of T20 at an average of 27.41.
