Surya’s full name is Suryakumar Ashok Yadav. He was born on September 14, 1990 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Surya is a right-handed batsman and also bowls part-time when required.
Played explosive innings in Ranji debut
Suryakumar Yadav made his first-class debut for Mumbai against Delhi in 2010. In his first innings, he scored 73 runs in 89 balls with the help of 15 fours. This was an innings which helped him gain recognition in the cricket world. His innings was highly appreciated.
Amazing performance in Ranji season 2011/12
In Ranji Trophy 2011–12, Suryakumar Yadav scored 754 runs in 9 matches at an average of 68.54 and proved that he is not only a talented player but also a player who can perform consistently. He ended the season as the leading run-scorer for Mumbai.

Surya became the best under-22 cricketer
Suryakumar Yadav was adjudged the best cricketer at the Under-22 level in the 2010–11 season and was honored with the trophy by MA Chidambaram. He scored more than 1,000 runs in his first 11 matches in first-class cricket.
Most explosive innings in Ranji
In the third match of the 2011/12 Ranji season, the Mumbai batsman scored his first double century against Orissa. The most special thing about this inning was his strike rate of 86.20. In the IPL 2014 players auction, KKR bought Surya for Rs 70 lakh. In IPL 2014, he scored 164 runs in 16 matches, although it was his excellent strike-rate of 140 that kept him from getting regular chances in the team.
