AIDS 100 Percent Protection Shot: In a recent study, a big claim has been made regarding HIV AIDS. According to the scientists doing the research, the injection that protects women 100% from HIV infection has proved successful in trials. This HIV medicine can work like a vaccine. Scientists say that by getting this injection once in two years, women will be completely protected from HIV/AIDS. This injection was tested on more than 5 thousand women in South Africa and Uganda, which was very successful.
The Guardian’s Report According to this, American pharmaceutical manufacturer Gilead has prepared this medicine named Sunlenca. This drug has been approved for the treatment of HIV in America, Canada, Europe and elsewhere. The company says that it is waiting for the results of the trials conducted on men before seeking permission to use this HIV medicine. A group included in this study was also given daily prevention pills to protect against HIV, but despite taking these pills, 2% of the women became infected with HIV.
At present, the first year’s cost of Lenacapavir, a drug used for the treatment of HIV, is around Rs 35 lakh, whereas the company has set a target of bringing the price of the new drug to just $40 (about Rs 3350). If this medicine is 100% successful in saving men from AIDS like women, then it will be considered revolutionary in the world. Till now, most of the people use daily prevention pills, condoms and other things to avoid HIV. While some medicines are used only for the treatment of HIV, they cannot prevent AIDS.
Health experts believe that if these injections are made available in the countries where HIV infection is most prevalent, then the AIDS epidemic can be avoided. Many scientists have appealed to the AIDS medicine manufacturing company to keep its price low, so that this medicine can reach all the people and people can avoid HIV infection. Every year a large number of people in the world lose their lives due to AIDS and till now no vaccine has been made for it. However, now after the arrival of this injection new hope has arisen.
World Health Organization (WHO) Report According to the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a virus that attacks the body’s immune system. HIV targets the white blood cells of the body, due to which immunity becomes extremely weak. Due to this, people easily fall prey to diseases like TB, infection and some cancers. When HIV infection becomes severe, it turns into Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). HIV is spread through the body fluids of an infected person, which include blood, breast milk, semen and fluids from private parts.
