New Delhi: Priya, a resident of Netherlands, is looking for something in India. For 47 years, a truth has been hidden from him which has given him sleepless nights. Priya, who grew up in Goes, Netherlands, is a woman trapped in the entanglement of bureaucrats and the system, whose story brings tears to the eyes. Priya has spent the last 47 years of her life asking the question who she is. For the last two decades, she has wanted to know who gave birth to her… who is her biological mother. According to Priya’s helpful lawyer Anjali Pawar, this case could also be a case of child trafficking.
Priya was adopted by a Dutch couple in 1979 at the age of two. He named her Irene Priya Cornelia Bruyn. The Times of India report states that she wants to know about her real parents but is unable to find out. Government officials have even told them that they should be thankful to God for the life they have today.
No documents, no records, how to get treatment…
Priya does not have documents at the time of birth. Nor any records related to adoption… She is a patient of Thalassemia and because she has no medical records, there are problems in her treatment. He has now approached the court in this matter.
Different officials and government agencies tell different stories. Some told her that she was the child of an unmarried mother, some said that her mother abandoned her due to mental illness. A third person said that the mother had become destitute due to the death of her father and hence she left you.
