In a cover interview with Vanity Fair, 32-year-old Selena shared that finding out that her pregnancy would not be safe was a big shock for her. Selena said, “I never said this but unfortunately I can’t give birth to children of my own. I have a lot of medical issues that could put my life and the baby’s life in danger. This was something that I would feel sad and pained about.” Kept troubling me for many days.
Selena has previously shared about her lupus diagnosis. BBC reported that this is an incurable autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system becomes overly active and attacks normal tissue. However, these symptoms can be controlled with the help of medicine. In 2017, Selena revealed that she had undergone a kidney transplant related to her lupus.
Selena also talked openly about living with bipolar disorder. In a 2022 interview with Rolling Stone, she shared that she could not achieve a safe pregnancy due to the medication she takes to treat bipolar. Talking about children, Selena told Vanity Fair that she hopes to have children and said that she is considering surrogacy or adoption.
He said, “It didn’t have to be the way I imagined it. I thought it would be like it happens with everyone. I’m in a much better situation in this regard. I found it a Blessings that there are people who are ready for surrogacy. Selena further said, “I am very excited about what this journey will be like. At the end of the day I don’t care what people say. This will be mine. This will be my child.”
