Material

  • 3 spoons ghee
  • 3 and half cups makhana
  • 8 to 9 chopped cashews
  • 1 liter milk
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 7 to 8 teaspoons sugar
  • Saffron
  • chopped pistachios

How to make

  • First of all, heat ghee in a pan.
  • Add makhana to the pan and fry until it absorbs all the ghee.
  • After roasting the makhana, divide it into two equal parts.
  • Grind one part of it.
  • Then heat ghee in a pan and add cashew nuts and roast for about 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Now add unground makhana to the milk and boil the milk on medium flame.
  • Boil this milk until it reduces to three-fourth of its quantity, during this time keep stirring the milk continuously.
  • When the makhana becomes soft, add sugar, saffron, pistachios and cardamom powder to it.
  • Mix all the ingredients well and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, then turn off the gas. Now serve Makhana Kheer hot or cold.
