Russia launches Luna-25 mission to Moon, its first lunar lander in 47 years. Luna-25 left for the moon’s journey, Russia started campaign after 47

Luna-25 mission: Russia has launched its campaign after 47 years to set foot on the Moon. Luna-25 was launched from the Boston Cosmodrome at 2:11 am local time in the early hours of Friday. Before Russia, India has sent its spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 to the moon. The objective of both the missions is to conduct a soft landing on the Moon and study the lunar surface. Both Russia and India’s vehicles will make a soft landing on the south pole of the Moon.

Russia’s first vehicle on the moon after 1976

Russia has sent its ‘Luna-25’ vehicle to the moon for the first time since 1976. The launch of this vehicle was done without the help of the European Space Agency. The agency ended its cooperation with Moscow after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Luna-25 will reach the moon on August 23

According to reports, the Russian spacecraft is likely to reach the Moon on August 23. This is the same date when Chandrayaan-3, launched by India on July 14, is expected to set foot on the lunar surface. Both countries have set a target of landing their vehicles on the south pole of the Moon, where no vehicle has been successful in soft landing so far. So far only three countries – the US, the erstwhile Soviet Union and China have been able to successfully land on the lunar surface.

Luna-25 will last for one year

If everything goes as expected, the presence of the Russian vehicle Luna-25 and India’s Chandrayaan-3 on the South Pole will make the two countries neighbors on the ridge. Luna-25 is the size of a small car. It is designed to work on the South Pole of the Moon for a year. (input language)
