Digvijay Singh The Madhya Pradesh unit of Congress lodged a complaint with the police on Sunday, claiming that a fake letter is viral on social media. It has been said in the complaint that this letter is being made viral so that the impression can be created that senior party leader Digvijay Singh has resigned after the release of the first list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections.
Congress on Sunday released its first list of 144 candidates for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections to be held on November 17, which includes the names of 69 sitting MLAs, including state Congress President Kamal Nath. Congress has given ticket to Digvijay Singh’s son Jaivardhan Singh from Raghogarh and his brother Laxman Singh from Guna’s Chachaura assembly seat. Both of them are sitting MLAs.
Here, Digvijay Singh has given his reaction on ‘X’. He has said that BJP is expert in lying. I took membership of Congress in 1971, not for any post, but because I was influenced by the ideology of the party. I will remain with Congress till my last breath. I am filing a complaint with the police.
@INCIndia @DGP_MP pic.twitter.com/X1AjVQBXvb— digvijaya singh (@digvijaya_28) October 15, 2023
Along with his post on social media platform ‘X’, former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh attached a “fake resignation letter”, claiming that the names recommended by Singh were not considered for party tickets. The “fake” letter addressed to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge states – My self-respect has been hurt by not giving preference to loyal workers.
The ‘fake’ letter said that it is with a heavy heart that I announce my decision to end my association with the party. I resign from all posts including primary membership of Congress…accept this…Later, Singh shared on ‘X’ a copy of the complaint letter submitted by his party to the cyber cell of Bhopal Police. He wrote that State Director General of Police (DGP) sir, will you file an FIR against these lies.
