America on Israel Hamas War: Israel is continuously attacking Gaza Strip. Israel’s aim is to break the back of Hamas. Buildings in northern Gaza have been left in ruins due to the rapid attack. Now Israel is making efforts to attack southern Gaza also. Not only this, Israel is now fully prepared for a ground attack. Israeli troops and tanks are deployed on the Gaza border. The IDF can enter Gaza and launch a large-scale attack as per a strategy. Meanwhile, sensing Israel’s intention, America wants to stop it from entering Gaza. This is the reason why the US Defense Department Pentagon has sent its advisors to the Middle East amid the fear of Israel’s attack on Gaza.
The Pentagon has sent military advisers, including a Marine Corps general skilled in urban warfare, to assist Israel in its war planning. Apart from this, many state-of-the-art air defense systems are also being rapidly sent to West Asia. A US official said that this aid operation is being led by Lieutenant General James Glynn of the Marine Corps. Glynn previously helped lead special operations forces against Islamic State. He also served in Fallujah, Iraq.
Israel preparing for major attack on Gaza
The official said Glynn will also suggest ways to avoid harm to civilians in urban warfare. Israel is preparing a massive ground offensive in Gaza, and it comes at a time when the Hamas militant group has built massive tunnels throughout the dense urban area of northern Gaza for years. Besides, many strategic fronts have been created to defeat the opponent.
Advisors will not join the fight: America
National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said Monday that Glynn and other military officials advising Israel have relevant experience in the operations conducted by Israel. The US official said the advisers would not participate in the fighting. Kirby said Iran ‘in some cases is actively promoting these attacks and inciting others who seek to exploit the conflict for their own or Iranian interests.’
Biden talked to Netanyahu
“We know that Iran’s goal is to maintain a certain level of unacceptability here, but we will not allow them to do that,” he said. The White House said President Joe Biden spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday and briefed him on ‘US support for Israel, including new US military deployments’.
