NASA Chief Bill Nelson Answer PM Modi Can Be India’s Next Astronaut

India-America On Space Centre: Administrator of American space agency NASA, Bill Nelson is on a visit to India these days. He is meeting Indian scientists here. On Tuesday, Nelson said that America and India are working on a plan to send an Indian astronaut to the International Space Station by the end of next year.

Talking to NDTV, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said that being able to travel to space can be a very valuable experience for any politician. In such a situation, when he was asked whether the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi Can be an astronaut? In response to this question, Nelson said that he himself had flown on the space shuttle as a politician and Prime Minister Modi is a space lover.

He further said that flying in space is a great experience for any politician. At the same time, for a head of state it becomes even more spectacular. Concluding his statement, he said, ‘There are no political boundaries in space, no religious or racial boundaries. Everyone there is just a citizen of Earth.

Congratulations to India on the success of Chandrayaan-3

Referring to the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3, Bill Nelson said that India deserves congratulations for this. America is going to launch several private landers on the South Pole of the Moon next year. But India was the first country to do so. Nelson further said that NASA will have no role in the selection of astronauts, it will be selected by ISRO. Let us tell you that if this happens, then for the first time after Rakesh Sharma in 1984, an Indian will go to the International Space Station.

It is noteworthy that NASA and ISRO together are also going to launch NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) next year. This will be one of the most expensive satellites in the world. This mission will be launched in 2024, which will monitor the Earth and study the changes taking place in the environment and will provide information about earthquakes and other disasters.
