How to identify whether chest pain is a sign of heart attack or not? Cardiologist told easy way

Is Chest Pain Sign of Heart Attack: People sometimes have the problem of chest pain, but sometimes it can be a sign of heart attack. Now the question arises that when chest pain indicates a serious disease and how can it be identified. Most people try to know the answer to this question. According to a report by Harvard Health, every year lakhs of people are admitted to the hospital due to chest pain, but only about 20 percent of them suffer from heart attack. Today let us know from the cardiologist how to identify chest pain and what kind of chest pain occurs due to heart disease or heart attack.

New Delhi Dr. Vanita Arora, Senior Cardiologist, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital She says that people remain confused about chest pain. Many times people mistake chest pain caused due to other reasons as heart attack, while many times people mistake chest pain caused due to heart attack as gastritis, acidity or muscle pain. In case of muscular pain, when you put your hand on the chest or ribs, the pain will increase, whereas in the condition of pain caused due to heart attack, there is no change in the pain by putting hand or pressing the chest. Not only this, due to acidity there is a burning sensation in the middle of the chest and walking provides relief. If you feel a burning sensation in your chest and get relief by walking, then you should understand that it is acidity and not a heart problem.

According to Dr. Vanita Arora, chest pain is a common symptom of heart attack, microvascular angina, gastritis and reflux. If you are feeling chest pain during normal physical activity, it can be a sign of heart disease. In some cases, there is pain in the right and left side of the chest, while sometimes the problem of pain is seen in the center.

If any such problem arises, a cardiologist should be contacted without any delay. In some cases, the real cause of pain is revealed only after testing.
