Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Wednesday evening. During this meeting, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that ‘Our trade with India has increased for the second consecutive year. This year the growth rate was even higher than last year. We are working together in many important areas. At the same time, we are happy to say that despite the ongoing turmoil in the world, our relations with our traditional Asian friend India and its people are continuously strengthening.
Putin invites ‘friend’ PM Modi to visit Russia
During his meeting with Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, Russian President Putin invited PM Modi to visit Russia to discuss bilateral relations, geopolitical issues and Ukraine conflict. Putin said that we would be happy if our friend PM Modi comes to Russia. With this we will be able to discuss all current issues and strengthen Russia-India relations. We have a lot of work ahead.
PM Modi, the Russian President said, ‘We are well aware of his position on global complex issues like the situation in Ukraine. I have told him many times about the situation of the conflict. I know he will do whatever is possible to resolve this issue peacefully.
Foreign Minister Jaishankar told on which issues the discussion took place
Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar wrote in a post shared on social media after the meeting that ‘he is honored to meet President Putin and he handed over a personal message to President Putin on behalf of PM Modi.’ He also said that a lot of international issues were discussed in the meeting with President Putin. In these, special discussions were held regarding inter-governmental BRICS and SCO conferences. Earlier, while speaking with Russian media, Jaishankar said that he was confident that the traditional bilateral summit between the two countries would resume next year. Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also met Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Let us tell you that Jaishankar is in Moscow on a four-day tour. In Russia, Jaishankar held in-depth talks on trade between the two countries in energy, fertilizer and cooking coal.
