If any kind of danger is suspected, preventive measures are taken in advance. Residents of Urban Estate of Patiala, one of the low-lying areas of Punjab city, are also doing something similar. In fact, Ghaggar River along with drains like Chhoti Nadi and Badi Nadi have been filled with silt. Seeing this, the local people are fearing severe floods like last year. The special thing is that people have found a way to avoid flood damage. To avoid damage caused by flood water, a resident of Patiala’s Urban Estate has made such a device that a chair has to be placed to reach the bed.
