Melodrama was subdued in the film, stereotypes were shown and overall Karan Johar showed everything for which he is famous.

Acting in Bad News
In Bad News, havoc has been wreaked in the name of acting. No star is able to fit into his character. Forget about capturing the expression. Amy Virk is a complete miss fit in this role and it seems that Diljit Dosanjh was cast in Good Newwz and hence to cast a Punjabi actor, they cast Amy Virk. Trupti Dimri also has a tough time in acting and is seen out at some places. Leave aside Vicky Kaushal, he is putting in so much emotion that he is going out of character.

Anand Tiwari is recognized as an actor. He took the responsibility of Bad News along with Karan Johar. But he disappointed because the subject of the film was good but the story was bad. The treatment was even worse and the direction had no substance.
