This film was Khalnayak released in 1993. Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff were seen in lead roles in the film Khalnayak.
Wanted to sign Nana Patekar
Subhash Ghai was talking to Nana Patekar about the main role. At one time Subhash Ghai wanted to hire a middle-aged person and the budget of the film was going to be very low. Subhash Ghai told Nana Patekar to get ready, I am going to sign you. But when Subhash Ghai wrote the story, he realized that this character required a misguided youth. Nana Patekar agreed with Subhash Ghai and said OK but kept a thing in his mind against him. Anil Kapoor also wanted to play Sanjay Dutt’s role.
Budget and collection of Sanjay Dutt’s film
The role of Jackie Shroff was first offered to Aamir Khan but he refused and wanted to play a negative role. But Subhash Ghai refused due to which he left the film. Talking about the budget of the villain, it is said to be around Rs 2 crore 50 lakh. Whereas it had a gross collection of Rs 21 crore 50 lakh. In this way it was included in the list of highest grossing films of 1993.
