According to the Mirror report, the scary background story of this McDonald’s outlet dates back to 2014 when the workers building it discovered a 2,000-year-old Roman road. The report said that archaeologists were brought in to excavate the site and found three skeletons, which are believed to be from the third century.
The ancient road, believed to be connected to the Appian Way β one of the busiest roads in ancient Rome β was hidden for a long time before being repurposed as a burial site. Pamela Serino, an archaeologist involved in the excavation, told The Telegraph: “The skeletons belong to three men, the oldest of whom was aged 35-40.”
The “World’s Creepiest McDonald’s” is in the news again as couple, Cassidy and James, posted a video of visiting the site and shared their experience on TikTok.
