These guidelines emphasize the importance of a diverse diet and active lifestyle. Research here revealed that if tea and coffee are taken properly, there is no risk of serious diseases.
How does tea cause harm?
Here ICMR has also advised people to avoid tea or coffee for at least an hour before and after eating. Research regarding this revealed that they contain tannin, which can reduce the ability to absorb iron in the body. Tannins bind with iron in the stomach, making it difficult for the body to absorb iron properly. It can cause health problems like iron deficiency and anemia, while it says that excessive coffee consumption can also cause high blood pressure and heart irregularities.
Know when you should drink tea
Researchers have also given information about when tea should and should not be consumed. Here tea contains caffeine which not only stimulates the central nervous system but also motivates the body to be dependent on itself. Regarding this, it was said in the guidelines that the amount of caffeine found in tea and coffee has also been mentioned, according to which 150 ml cup of brewed coffee contains 80-120 mg of caffeine. Whereas the amount of caffeine in instant coffee is 50-65 mg and that of tea is 30-65 mg. Giving advice regarding this, he said that only 300 mg of caffeine should be consumed daily.
