1- Ramsan Village (Gujarat)
There is a village Ramsan in Gujarat, part of India which comes in Banaskantha, the festival of Holi is not celebrated here. It has been almost 200 years that people here do not even give Holi vaccine to each other. It is said that this village Ramsan has been cursed by some saints, due to which people here do not celebrate Holi.
2- Tamil Nadu (South India)
There is one state in the country where the celebration of Holi is not seen, due to which instead of Holi, a local festival called Masi Magam is celebrated here. Because of this, Holi is rarely celebrated in this state.
3- Durgapur (Jharkhand)
Like Ramsan village, there is a village in Jharkhand too where people are not celebrating the festival of Holi for about 200 years. Those who want to celebrate, celebrate outside the village in a neighboring village. It is said that the king’s son had died on the day of Holi, after which, before dying in the same incident, the king had banned Holi in the village. Since then this rule has remained intact till now.
4- Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand
Holi festival is not celebrated in many places even in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand, a part of India. Holi is not celebrated here even in three villages, Quili, Kurjhan and Jaudla. The reason behind this is also very interesting. Local people believe that the goddess Tripura Sundari here does not like noise, this goddess protects the three villages. For this reason Holi is not celebrated.
