Urad dal- 1 cup, 1 pinch asafoetida, salt as per taste, oil, whipped curd, sweet chutney, green coriander chutney, pinch of black salt, roasted cumin powder, red chilli powder.

  • First step: First of all, wash the lentils and soak them for 3 to 4 hours. After the stipulated time, drain the water and grind the lentils coarsely in the mixer. Do not use water in dal otherwise the curd vadas will not become properly round. Now add salt and asafoetida in it and beat it till the dal starts looking a little fluffy.
  • Second step: Pour oil in a pan and heat it. Take some dal, round it and slowly put it in the pan. If you want, you can also use a cloth and bowl to make the vada round. Fry the vadas by turning them repeatedly until they turn golden brown.
  • Third step: Soak the dahi vadas in hot water 15 minutes before serving them. Also add salt to this hot water. Now take out the vada one by one and press it with your palm to extract the water. Now pour whipped curd on top and add coriander chutney, black salt, salt, roasted cumin, sweet chutney, add a little more curd on top and sprinkle red chilli and serve.
