This area remains on top in pollution every year, people living in Delhi-Ghaziabad are suffocated, take protection like this

Most polluted are of Delhi: Pollution in Delhi has crossed its limits. Poison has dissolved in the air here. In many areas, the air quality has become so bad that a blanket of smog has spread that people cannot even see their surroundings clearly and even healthy people are facing difficulties in breathing. At present AQI 500 in most areas of Delhi Has reached close to. However, there are many areas of Delhi where pollution is the worst affected, not only this time but every year. The pollution level in these areas is so high that due to smog and pollution it remains dark even during the day.

Anand Vihar is one of the most polluted areas of Delhi. This time the air quality index has reached the highest of 999 just two days ago. Anand Vihar is one of the important areas of Delhi and on top of that it is also close to Ghaziabad, due to which the people living in both Delhi and Ghaziabad have to bear the brunt of the pollution of Anand Vihar.

Vivek Chattopadhyay, associate expert in the pollution control unit of the Center for Science and Environment, says that there is so much pollution in Anand Vihar that it has become a gas chamber. By staying here, not only the people suffering from lung and respiratory diseases but also the healthy people are facing respiratory problems. Living in 999 AQI is quite bad.

Why is there so much pollution in Anand Vihar?
Vivek Chattopadhyay says that there are two big reasons behind why the air quality in Anand Vihar gets so bad every year. Although there is pollution in the whole of Delhi, but there are some local issues due to which the situation here becomes worse. The first big reason is that BS 3 and BS 4 diesel buses come to Anand Vihar bus stand from many states. When the environmental situation in Delhi is sensitive, the harmful gases emitted from diesel buses increase the pollution manifold.

The second major reason is the Ghazipur land fill site. Here, garbage heaps catch fire several times a year. Due to this, harmful gases are released and keep accumulating in the atmosphere. As soon as mild winter starts and the layer of pollution increases in Delhi, these gases make the air here more poisonous.

It is difficult to live in these areas
Vivek says that there is also Sahibabad industrial area near Anand Vihar which increases pollution here. However, due to all this the situation becomes very bad in the areas settled around Anand Vihar. In such a situation, the quantity of PM 2.5 is high in the adjacent Trans Hindon area which includes places like Kaushambi, Vaishali, Vasundhara, Sahibabad, Indirapuram etc. and in areas of Delhi like Surya Nagar, Vivek Vihar, Karkardooma, Patparganj etc. Apart from having difficulty in breathing, people even get admitted to the hospital.

what to do to protect yourself
Vivek says that living in such severe pollution is not free from danger. People living around Anand Vihar should try to leave this area for at least a month and go somewhere else. At the same time, local bodies and government should also issue health advisory for this area.
