IPL 2025 Auction: Preparations for IPL 2025 are going on in full swing in the country. This time a mega auction is going to be held for the upcoming season. Before that, the owners of all the teams are going to participate in the meeting with the Governing Council of IPL in the financial capital Mumbai on Wednesday (31 July 2024). During this time, it is expected that in the special meeting, the purse of all the teams can be increased from Rs 100 crore to Rs 120 crore. Not only this, there may also be an increase in the number of players retained before the start of the season. Many franchises are trying to ensure that the Governing Council allows them to retain at least 6 players. This may also include ‘right to match’ option.
Let us tell you that some major changes are expected in the auction process to be held at the end of the year. It is expected that this time many players may move from one team to another. During this time, it is expected that there will be a huge shower of money on them.
According to PTI report, almost all the franchises have agreed that their purse should be increased by at least 20 to 25 percent for the upcoming season. At present, a maximum amount of Rs 100 crore is provided to all the owners during the auction.
Speaking to PTI on condition of anonymity, a senior official of the IPL franchise said, “I think the purse is definitely increasing this time. If a standard increase is seen then it can be between 20 to 25 percent. Most of the franchisees agree with this decision.
