Captains who lost matches on Super Sunday fined

New Delhi. Cricket fans thoroughly enjoyed Super Sunday in IPL 2024. During this period, everything from the ruckus on Virat’s wicket to the fine imposed on the captains who lost the match was a topic of discussion in the cricket world.

In the Sunday special, the first match of the double header match was played between KKR and RCB. While the second match was between GT and Punjab.

In the high scoring match of the day, KKR defeated RCB by just 1 run. At the same time, the match between GT and Punjab was low scoring but the competition was close where GT won by 3 wickets.

But amidst all this excitement, a very interesting incident happened where the teams that lost the match on this day were fined.

However, the question is why was this fine imposed? Was it because the team lost or was the reason something else?

This information has been given by issuing a statement from IPL. RCB captain Faf du Plessis had to face a fine of Rs 12 lakh after losing the match to KKR. According to the statement, this fine was imposed on Faf Duplessis due to slow over rate.

But this fine on Punjab Kings captain Sam Curran is not due to over-rate.

According to the statement issued by the IPL, Sam Curran has been found guilty of Level 1, he violated Section 2.8 of the code of conduct of this league.

This offense is in the context of expressing dissatisfaction with the umpire’s decision. Sam Curran has confessed his crime in front of the match referee, after which his match fee has been reduced by 50 percent.
