New Delhi. The Indian team has made it to the Under-19 World Cup final for the 9th time. The current champion will have a chance to win this trophy for the sixth time by defeating Australia. Wicketkeeper Araveli Avnish Rao, playing for the Indian team, is eager to give a memorable performance for the team in the final. Everyone’s eyes will be on this young man who is a fan of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and idolizes the Australian legend.
Aravali’s idol is Australian legend Adam Gilchrist, whose videos he often watches. He said, “My all time favorite is Gilchrist.” I have learned a lot by watching his videos. His understanding of the game and maintaining confidence in every situation is praiseworthy. Like him, I am also a good batsman. Have a desire to meet him.
Araveli, who watched cricket sitting with his father, said, “I wanted to become a cricketer since childhood. Papa is a software engineer but is fond of cricket and while sitting with him and watching the match, my interest was aroused.
Now he wants to learn a lot from Dhoni by becoming a part of CSK soon. He said, “I want to learn from him to remain firm in pressure situations.” When the team is not playing well, how does he get the team out of trouble and win the match. That inning of his in the World Cup 2011. There is a lot to learn from him.
While chasing the target of 376 runs in the four-nation series in November, Araveli led the team to victory by scoring 163 runs in 93 balls after five wickets fell at 95 runs. He made his debut for Hyderabad in List A cricket through Vijay Hazare Trophy. He said, “I want to learn from Dhoni sir about wicketkeeping against spinners and also to bring agility in wicketkeeping.”
Regarding preparations for the World Cup final, he said, “We have been playing well since day one and came here with the intention of winning.” Playing as a unit is our strength and we are not taking any pressure. After going to the hotel, we talk about things other than cricket so that we remain fresh and away from pressure.
