After this, Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 182 runs for six wickets thanks to Kohli’s unbeaten inning of 83 runs in 59 balls with four sixes and four fours. Kohli also made a partnership of 65 runs with Cameron Green (33) for the second wicket and 42 runs with Glenn Maxwell (28) for the third wicket. Dinesh Karthik finally scored 20 runs in eight balls with the help of three sixes.

Kolkata Knight Riders, who came to chase the target of 183 runs from Bengaluru, got a stormy start from the opening pair of Sunil Narine and Philip Salt. Salt started off Siraj with two sixes and a four in the first over while Narayan hit two sixes on Alzarri Joseph in the third over. Narayan and Phil Salt added 86 runs in 6.3 overs for the first wicket. Phil Salt scored 30 runs in 20 balls with the help of two sixes and two fours. Kolkata Knight Riders scored 85 runs without losing any wicket in the power play, which is the highest score of any team in the first six overs in the current season. Apart from this, for Kolkata Knight Riders, Venkatesh Iyer played an inning of 50 runs in 30 balls with the help of three fours and four sixes. Whereas Kolkata captain Shreyas Iyer scored unbeaten 39 runs in 24 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes. Kolkata Knight Riders have improved their run rate by winning the match in just 16.5 overs.
