IPL 2024 Point Table Updated After Rajasthan Royals Vs Delhi Capitals 9th Match, Chennai Super Kings On Top

If we talk about the match, on the basis of Riyan Parag’s unbeaten inning of 84 runs, Rajasthan Royals registered their second consecutive win by defeating Delhi Capitals by 12 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 match on Thursday.

22-year-old Ryan from Assam made his best score in the IPL by hitting seven fours and three sixes in his 45-ball innings. Due to his explosive innings, the team added 92 runs in the last seven overs. After scoring 185 runs for five wickets while batting first, Rajasthan restricted Delhi’s innings to 173 runs for five wickets. This is the ninth win of the home team in nine matches in the current IPL season.

This is the second win in two matches for Rajasthan while this is the second consecutive defeat for Delhi. For Delhi, Tristan Stubbs scored unbeaten 44 runs in 23 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes, while David Warner scored 49 runs in 34 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes. Warner, playing his 100th IPL match, made a partnership of 67 runs in 46 balls for the third wicket with captain Rishabh Pant, while Stubbs kept the team in the match by making an unbroken partnership of 51 runs in 27 balls with Akshar.

For Rajasthan, Nandre Berger and Yuzvendra Chahal took two wickets each but Avesh Khan, defending 17 runs in the last over, spent only four runs in front of Stubbs and Akshar (15 not out). The Rajasthan team was struggling after losing three wickets for 38 runs after eight overs but man of the match Riyan along with Ravichandran Ashwin (29 runs in 19 balls) made 54 runs in 37 balls for the fourth wicket and Dhruv Jurel for the fifth wicket. (20 runs in 12 balls) and made the team’s comeback in the match by making an aggressive partnership of 52 runs in 23 balls.

He scored 25 runs by hitting three fours and two sixes against Enrich Norkia in the last over during an unbroken partnership of 43 runs in 16 balls with Shimron Hetmyer (14 not out in seven balls). All five bowlers of Delhi Capitals got one success each. Khalil Ahmed gave 24 runs and Akshar Patel gave 21 runs, while Kuldeep Yadav gave 41 runs, Norkia gave 48 runs and Mukesh Kumar gave 49 runs.

While chasing the target, Mitchell Marsh gave an aggressive start to Delhi by hitting three fours against Andre Berger and two fours against Trent Boult. Burger gave double success to Rajasthan by dismissing Marsh and Ricky Bhui in three balls in the fourth over of the innings. Warner, who was batting cautiously till now, hit two sixes against Boult in the fifth over and one six against Burger in the sixth over, due to which Delhi Capitals scored 59 runs for two wickets in the power play.

Warner welcomed Avesh Khan with two consecutive fours in the eighth over. Pant hit his first six against Yuzvendra Chahal in the 10th over. Sandeep Sharma put pressure on Delhi by giving just four runs in the 11th over, the benefit of which was Avesh Khan getting the wicket of Warner in the next over. Sandeep took a brilliant catch by diving at short third man.

After ending Pant’s innings of 28 runs in 26 balls on the first ball of the 14th over, Chahal dismissed Abhishek Porel (nine runs in 10 balls) in the 16th over. Boult dropped an easy catch from Stubbs on Ashwin’s ball and the batsman celebrated it by hitting two consecutive sixes and brought Delhi back into the match. Delhi needed 32 runs to win in the last two overs and Stubbs kept the excitement of the match going by hitting a six and a four in the 19th over against Sandeep.

Captain Sanju Samson handed the ball to Avesh to defend 17 runs in the last over and the Indore player did not disappoint him by conceding only four runs. Before this, Delhi’s fast bowlers bowled tightly in the beginning. Mukesh gave a good start to the team by bowling Yashasvi Jaiswal in the second over of the innings. Samson hit a hat-trick of fours in the next over of this bowler but in the sixth over, Khalil’s ball was played into the hands of Pant. In the powerplay, Rajasthan team could score only 31 runs for two wickets.

Jos Buttler, who was struggling to score runs from the other end, was trapped LBW by Kuldeep in the eighth over. Ryan hit a four against Akshar in the ninth over. This was Rajasthan’s first four after 31 balls. After hitting the first six of the innings against Kuldeep, Ashwin proved the decision of sending him higher in the batting order by hitting two sixes against Norkia in the 11th over.

From the other end, Ryan also hit a six against Kuldeep but Akshar dismissed Ashwin in the 14th over. Ryan, who was in great rhythm, started playing big shots from the 15th over. He completed the team’s century of runs by hitting a six and two fours on consecutive balls against Khalil. In the next over, he completed his fifty in 34 balls by hitting a four and a six against Mukesh.

While Dhruv Jurel hit a four against Kuldeep, Ryan spoiled the figures of this left-arm spinner by hitting a six. Jurel’s innings was ended by Norkia bowling him. Hetmyer hit a six and a four against Mukesh due to which the team’s score reached 160 runs in the 19th over. Ryan gave Rajasthan fans a chance to celebrate by scoring 25 runs in the last over against Norkia.
