IPL 2024: Thats Why Kuldeep Yadav May Be Sit Out For Few Matches

Mumbai:

Kuldeep Yadav: Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav is recovering from a ‘groin’ injury and has been advised rest by the Delhi Capitals team management in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) as a precautionary measure. And it is possible that he may not be able to provide his services to Delhi in some matches. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep was injured in Delhi Capitals’ second match of the season against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur, in which the team had to face defeat. This forced the 29-year-old player to stay out of the next matches in which experienced fast bowler Ishant Sharma made a comeback in the playing eleven.

When an IPL source was asked about Kuldeep’s condition, he said, ‘It will take some time for him to become match fit.’ Kuldeep is a centrally contracted player and a T20 World Cup candidate, so the advice of the sports science and medical team of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) will be crucial in his injury and ‘rehab’ management. It is mandatory for IPL franchises to inform the NCA about injuries and injury-related concerns of Indian players.

However, Kuldeep is traveling with the team for all the matches and there are doubts over his participation in Delhi Capitals’ upcoming match against Mumbai Indians on Sunday. Kuldeep has taken three wickets in two matches at an economy of 7.62. He performed brilliantly in the five-Test series against England, taking 19 wickets.
