What is special about pistol events?

Pistol used in 10 meter air pistol competition

The pistol used in the 10 meter air pistol competition is a single-loaded gun in a 4.5-millimeter calibre, while the 5.6 caliber pistol used in the 25 meter event is a rapid fire pistol with a five-shot magazine. . In pistol events, athletes have to aim at a stationary target in an indoor shooting range. All shooting is done from prescribed distances – 10m, 25m, 50m, in which athletes have to aim at a target made of paper.

What are the rules and conditions of 10 meter air pistol?

The rules of this competition are the same as for 10 meter air rifle. Men, women and mixed teams participate in it. In the singles category (men and women), shooters take 60 shots within a time limit of one hour and 15 minutes, after which the top eight shooters qualify for the medal round. In the mixed team event, each team member fires 40 shots and the five top scoring teams compete in the final.
