“Our entire team is against Sachin…”, former Pakistan captain made a big revelation about Wasim Akram

New Delhi: There was a time when India-Pakistan rivalry was at its peak. From the eighties to the nineties, a different kind of energy was created regarding the competition between the two countries. And the reason was that both the teams had more than one superstar cricketer. With the passage of time, Team India got stars, but the same cannot be said about Pakistan. However, whenever the two countries clashed with each other in the last few decades, the contest was always in discussion about Pakistan bowling and Indian batting. Now former Pakistani cricketer Basit Ali has remembered those days. Latif admitted on his YouTube channel that Pakistani players used to scare Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar.

Ali said that in that era there were many great cricketers including captain Azharuddin. Sachin Tendulkar used to be a top order batsman and I was a middle order batsman. In such situations, we used to watch Sachin’s batting. The former captain said that in our team meetings, the then captain Wasim Akram used to say everywhere, “Get Sachin out, we will win the match.” Be it the practice field or the dinner table, Akram’s tone remained the same.

Rashid said in the video, ‘And as soon as Sachin was out, Pakistan used to win the match. Although the great Azharuddin lived on the pitch, we were not afraid of Azhar. But definitely there was fear of Sachin among our players.

Let us tell you that in India and Pakistan, Sachin Tendulkar is the batsman who has scored the most runs in ODIs in both the countries. Sachin scored 2526 runs in 67 innings of 69 matches against Pakistan, while in the Test he scored 1057 runs with an average of more than 42.
