Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was honored with the Allan Border Medalist Award at the 2024 Australian Cricket Awards on Wednesday, while Ashley Gardner received the Belinda Clark Award. Marsh made a comeback to the Test format in Ashes 2023 at Headingley while Ashley played an inning of 118 runs in 118 balls. The right-handed batsman scored 441 runs at an average of 49 during last year’s ODI World Cup, which included an innings of 177* against Bangladesh.

Gardner, on the other hand, won her second Belinda Clark Award, having earlier been awarded the same prestigious honor in 2022. Gardner had an exceptional 2023 as he took 20 wickets, while in T20s, which also included Australia’s victory in the 2023 World Cup, he took 19 wickets with an economy rate of 7.49. His average with the bat in ODI was 33.16 and in T20 format his average was 24.10 and strike rate was 118.13.

Australia’s experienced spinner Nathan Lyon was named Shane Warne Men’s Test Player of the Year. He could not play in three Ashes matches due to a calf injury suffered in the second Test at Lord’s.
