“Rohit, Dravid, Ajit…” Manjrekar did not give place to Virat in T20 World Cup post, trolled badly on social media

Former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar shared an emotional post for Team India after Rohit Sharma and Co. won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Taking to social media platform X, Manjrekar credited captain Rohit Sharma, head coach Rahul Dravid and chief selector Ajit Agarkar for the team’s success in the tournament. Let us tell you, India had won the T20 World Cup title in the year 2007 and since then Team India has not been able to win any T20 trophy. Whereas India had not won any ICC trophy since 2013. In such a situation, this victory was very big for Team India.

However, there was no mention of star batsman Virat Kohli in the post that Manjrekar posted on social media. Fans immediately took notice of this and criticized the cricketer-turned-commentator for ignoring Kohli, who was named ‘Man of the Match’ in the final against South Africa. Let us tell you, India had given a target of 171 runs to South Africa to win on the basis of Virat Kohli’s innings in the final.

If we talk about the match, while chasing the target from India, the South African team could score only 169 runs. Heinrich Klaasen played an inning of 52 runs in 27 balls. When Klaasen was batting, it seemed that South Africa would easily win the match. But after this Hardik Pandya came and dismissed him and India counterattacked in the match and restricted the runs.

After Hardik’s counterattack, Bumrah and Arshdeep brought Team India back into the match. South Africa needed 16 runs to win in the last over and Hardik ensured victory for India by guiding David Miller to the pavilion on the very first ball of this over. Hardik gave only 8 runs in his last over and gave victory to India.
