After winning the first match, England will be eyeing an unassailable lead against the West Indies in the three-match series, while West Indies will try to make a comeback. This is the first time since 2003 that James Anderson will not be available for selection for England in red-ball cricket. Even in his absence, England would like to continue their dominance against West Indies, as they did in the first Test. On the other hand, the Caribbean team will try to repeat its famous win against Australia at the Gabba, which it achieved at the beginning of the year.

In the year 1994, this feat was achieved in 4.3 overs against South Africa and in the year 2002, England achieved this feat in 4.6 overs against Sri Lanka.
