Baltimore (USA): All six people missing after a cargo ship collided with the Baltimore Bridge and fell into the river in Baltimore, Maryland, America, late Monday night, have been presumed dead and the search operation for them will continue till the next day. Was stopped for. Maryland’s governor said the ship’s crew issued a warning message before hitting the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which helped officials limit the number of vehicles on the bridge.

The ship collided with a pillar of the bridge, causing the structure to collapse into the river within seconds. During this time the ship caught fire and black smoke started coming out from it. Someone made a video of this incident and posted it on social media. Maryland State Police Superintendent Colonel Roland L. Butler Jr. said Tuesday evening that the search for the missing has been suspended and that divers will return to the scene at 6 a.m. Wednesday when the river’s challenging overnight conditions will have improved.

The ship collided with a pillar of the ‘Francis Scott Key Bridge’ in Baltimore at around 1:30 am local time. State Transport Minister Paul Wiedefeld said the six people, who are still unaccounted for, were part of a construction crew filling potholes on the bridge. A senior official of the company that employed the workers said on Tuesday afternoon that the missing people were presumed dead considering the depth of the river and the length of time since the accident.

Jeffrey Pritzker, executive vice president of Browder Builders, said workers were working in the middle of the bridge when it collapsed. However, no body has been recovered yet. Rescue workers pulled two people from the river, one of whom was treated at the hospital and released after a few hours. Many vehicles have also fallen into the river.

Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott called it “an unimaginable tragedy.” He said, “You would never have thought that you would see this bridge collapsing. It looked like an action movie.” Synergy Marine Group, which manages the ship, said in a statement that the ship’s owners and managers reported that the ship collided with a pillar of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore at about 1:30 a.m. local time on Monday. It said explanations have been sought from all crew members and there are no reports of injuries.
