Bangladesh Reservation Protest : The Supreme Court in Bangladesh has ended the issue of reservation, but the situation is still tense there. Now to capitalize on this issue, opposition parties are demanding the removal of Sheikh Hasina. Bangladesh National Party has also started a campaign against the government with the help of Jamaat-e-Islami. According to the ET report, these leaders are also trying to influence the country’s army. For this, fake letters in the name of junior officers of Bangladesh Army are being made viral. ET quoted sources and wrote that the country’s army is supporting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Harmful to India’s security
At the same time, more than 110 people died after the violence in Bangladesh. More than 4 thousand people were also injured in this. However, on Sunday the Supreme Court ruled that 93 percent of the posts in government jobs will be filled on the basis of merit. Only 5 percent seats will be reserved for the descendants of freedom fighters. The remaining 2 percent seats will be given to ethnic minorities, transgenders and the disabled. The Indian government is also keeping an eye on this, because the unrest in Bangladesh affects West Bengal and the Northeast. Bangladeshi experts feared that if the situation is not handled wisely, the anti-Hasina movement could turn into an anti-India movement. If fundamentalist forces become stronger in Bangladesh, it can be harmful for India’s security.
The entire Bay of Bengal will be affected
International affairs expert Professor Prabir Dey says that India is Bangladesh’s biggest business partner in South Asia. Both countries participate through regional organizations like BIMSTEC, SAARC. Many north-eastern states of India are dependent on Bangladesh and similarly Bangladesh is also dependent on India. He said that unstable Bangladesh can become a security threat not only to India but also to the entire Bay of Bengal region. Therefore, it is very important for India and the government is also keeping an eye on it.
