Britain: A luxurious commode was stolen 4 years ago from Blaenham Palace in Oxfordshire, UK. Now four people have been charged in this case. Michael Jones, 38, and James Sheen, 39, of Oxford, have been charged with theft. Fred Doe, 35, of Ascot, and Bora Gucuk, 39, of London, are charged with conspiracy to transfer property. All are to appear before an Oxford magistrate on November 28. It is said that this commode is so expensive that many houses can be bought for its price.
The name of the toilet from which the commode was stolen was ‘America’.
The incident occurred on September 14, 2019, when it was placed during an art exhibition. Now four people have been charged in this case. However, this crime has still not been proven against anyone. Blenheim Palace is the birthplace of former UK PM Winston Churchill. Thieves escaped after breaking into his palace in Oxfordshire and uprooting the commode. The name of the toilet was ‘America’. Its price was 50 lakh pounds i.e. more than 50 crores. Thieves had uprooted it from the wooden floor, which flooded the palace and caused huge damage.
This commode was in former PM Churchill’s room.
This commode was installed in the luxurious palace of former Prime Minister Winston Churchill near Churchill’s room, where he was born. This toilet was created by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan. This toilet was installed in his art exhibition Victory is Not an Option. Interestingly, this commode has also been lent to former US President Donald Trump in 2016.
