Coalition government in Pakistan

Pakistan. At last the time has come for the formation of an elected government in Pakistan. Amid allegations of rigging in elections and several rounds of talks to form the government, it has come to light that a coalition government will be formed in Pakistan in the early dates of next month. Quoting a media report, it has come to light that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) are moving towards forming a coalition government by March 2.

Along with this, there is also a plan to hold presidential elections before March 9. This information was given in the media report on Friday. In the recent elections in Pakistan, a situation of hung parliament was created. It has come to light that former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto’s PPP party will support PML-N led by former PM Nawaz Sharif. At the same time, the return of PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif to the post of Prime Minister is almost certain. His elder brother Nawaz Sharif has already announced his name for the post of Prime Minister. The party says that three-time PM Nawaz Sharif does not want to lead a government in which PML-N does not have majority in the Parliament.

However, both the parties, PML-N and PPP, which were going to form the government, got less seats than the independent candidates supported by former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Former PM Imran Khan is currently in jail. Quoting sources, The News International said that the proposal to hold presidential elections before March 9 is being seriously considered. Because the newly elected assemblies across the country will take oath by 29th February and the new government will be formed by 2nd March. The five-year term of outgoing President Dr. Arif Alvi officially ended in September last year.
