New York: American billionaire Elon Musk has congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his historic victory in the Lok Sabha elections. He has said he is excited about the “exciting work” his companies are doing in India. Let us tell you that Narendra Modi will take oath as Prime Minister on June 9. This will be his third consecutive term as Prime Minister. Musk wrote on social media platform ‘X’ on Friday, “Congratulations to Narendra Modi on his victory in the world’s largest democratic elections! Excited about the exciting work my companies are doing in India.”
Prime Minister Modi replied to him, “Elon Musk, I appreciate your good wishes.” He said the talented Indian youth, the country’s demography, predictable policies and stable democratic politics will continue to provide a promising business environment for all its stakeholders. The chief executive officer (CEO) of electric car maker Tesla and microblogging platform X had earlier postponed his planned visit to India in April due to “heavy Tesla-related obligations”.
Elon Musk was to visit India earlier
Musk was scheduled to visit India on 21 and 22 April. During this time, he also had a plan to meet Prime Minister Modi. However, he later informed on ‘X’ itself that he is excited to visit India later this year. In June last year, Musk had met Modi during his visit to America. He had said that he is planning to visit India in 2024. He expressed confidence that Tesla will soon enter the Indian market. His proposed visit had raised expectations that he would announce plans to set up electric car maker Tesla as well as his telecommunications (satcom) venture Starlink in the country. (Language)
