Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar is often in the news for his harsh statements. Currently he is on a tour of South Korea. On Tuesday he met people of Indian origin in South Korea. During this, a woman asked a question to Jaishankar, to which the Foreign Minister’s answer is going viral on social media.
‘How to deal with rude comments’
During the program, an Indian origin woman asked Foreign Minister S Jaishankar that ‘You are now in politics and there is an election atmosphere in India at present. All political parties often make lewd comments on their opponents, but you never used bad words against your opponents in any interview inside or outside the country. In such a situation, how have you protected yourself?
In response to this question, the Foreign Minister said, ‘You are in politics and how are you talking politely even after four-five years, this is your question, isn’t it?’ As soon as the Foreign Minister said this, everyone present at the program started laughing. The Foreign Minister further said that ‘The way you behave with others, people also behave with you in the same way. When I was in the field of diplomacy, many of the people who are in politics today were my friends or were my guests during my foreign trips. Now that you have joined politics, it does not mean that those relationships are broken. It is good to treat people well. Politics is new to me and people at my age rarely get a chance to do new things, but I am very grateful that I got this opportunity.
