Article 370 Verdict: Pakistan is upset by the Supreme Court’s decision on Article 370. After the reaction of Pakistan’s acting Foreign Minister, jailed former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has reacted. He has said that the decision of the Supreme Court of India to abrogate Article 370 will make the Kashmir issue more complicated. It is noteworthy that the Supreme Court on Monday unanimously upheld the Central Government’s August 2019 decision to abolish most of the provisions of Article 370 of the Constitution, which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail Imran Khan Said in a message that the decision of the Indian top court is a gross violation of the UNSC resolutions. His Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party gave this information in a post on X (formerly Twitter). It quoted Khan as saying that the controversial and illegal decision of the Indian top court will make the Kashmir issue more complex instead of helping to resolve the decades-long conflict.
Kashmir issue is the main root of dispute
Khan further said that his party will continue to provide full diplomatic, moral and political support to the Kashmiri people. Reiterating his point, he said that the Kashmir issue was the main root of dispute between Pakistan and India. Khan further said that he wants to establish good relations with India by keeping national interests first. However, this was not possible after August 5, 2019 because we did not want to compromise with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Foreign Minister said – no legal importance
Earlier, Pakistan’s acting Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani said that it has no ‘legal significance’. During this, Jilani assured that even after this decision, we will try to ensure that the atmosphere of peace that has been prevailing on the LoC for the last two-three years continues in future also.
