Imran Khan writes to IMF urges it to audit Feb 8 polls before considering any bailout talks with Pak gov

Imran Khan Letter To IMF: Pakistan’s jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan has written a letter to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Wednesday, in which the country facing cash crisis (Pakistan Economic Crisis) has written a letter to someone else. It was urged to ensure audit of at least 30 per cent of national and provincial assembly seats before considering bailout talks.

Khan, 71, founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, had announced last week that he would ask the global lender to refrain from giving any aid as authorities sought to keep his party out of power. The results have been rigged.

What did Gauhar Ali Khan say on Imran’s letter?

His party president-designate Gohar Ali Khan, while addressing a press conference along with party general secretary Omar Ayub Khan, confirmed the letter, but refused to share its contents. A party spokesperson also said that the letter would not be shared with the media until it was validated by the party.

IMF adds conditions before loan to Pakistan

‘PTI-Bhasha’ has seen a letter addressed to IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva by party spokesperson Rauf Hasan under the guidance of Khan. The letter begins with the clarification that the party is not against IMF facility to Pakistan (Pakistan IMF News). It has been written in the letter that PTI party does not want to put any obstacle in the way of IMF’s assistance to Pakistan, but some conditions should be attached with IMF’s assistance.
