India-Russia Annual Summit PM Modi Putin Talk Kremlin Expecting Important Full-Fledged Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Russia on 8 and 9 July. Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited PM Modi for the 22nd India-Russia annual summit. Presidential Office Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia hopes that PM Modi’s visit will be important and comprehensive, which is very important for the relations between the two countries.

Peskov gave an interview to Russian state television channel on Saturday, in which he said that we hope that there will be bilateral as well as delegation level talks between the two leaders. The two leaders will review the entire range of multifaceted relations between the two countries and exchange views on contemporary regional and global issues of mutual interest.

Peskov further said, obviously, the agenda will be extensive, if not hectic, this will be an official visit and we hope that the heads will be able to talk informally as well. He said that the relations between the two countries are at the level of strategic partnership. It is noteworthy that this will be PM Modi’s first visit to Russia in five years. Earlier he had gone to Russia in 2019. So far, 21 annual summits have been held alternately between India and Russia.

While announcing the high-level visit in New Delhi on Thursday, the Ministry of External Affairs said that the two leaders will review the entire range of multifaceted relations between the two countries and exchange views on contemporary regional and global issues of mutual interest.
