A young man of Indian origin in Singapore has been convicted of physically exploiting an Indian worker. The accused has been identified as 20-year-old Srikanth Murugan, who sexually assaulted the 34-year-old Indian worker. According to the news, the victim was sleeping on a bench in a housing society in Singapore, when the accused youth came there and misbehaved with the sleeping person. As soon as the victim opened his eyes, the accused fled from the spot.
The Singapore court will now give its verdict in this case on May 9. Considering the age and criminal behavior of the accused, the court is considering sending him to probation and corrective training centre. However, the Public Prosecutor has opposed this and has demanded that instead of sending the accused to the Correctional Training Centre, he should be sent to the Rehabilitation Centre. In Singapore, criminals under the age of 21 are sent to reformative training rather than being kept in jail.
