During this, a group of protesters set fire to the Parliament. The MPs trapped inside at the time of the incident were taken out safely with the help of fire brigade and other security agencies. Two people have also died in this fierce protest going on in Kenya.

In fact, on Tuesday itself, before setting fire to the Parliament, policemen had opened fire on protesters in the capital Nairobi. Thousands of people are taking part in this protest, demanding that the country’s MPs vote against the new tax rules proposed in the controversial Finance Bill. This protest has been going on for a long time, two people died during the protest last week. At present, there is no news of any casualty in the demonstration on Tuesday. Doctors across the country have set up emergency temporary medical camps in many cities to provide treatment to those injured during the protests. The people of Kenya are donating money and materials for these camps.

The price of these goods will increase due to the new bill
The demonstration started in Kenya when MPs voted on a bill offering new taxes. The new tax also includes ‘eco-levy’, which will increase the price of items like sanitary pads and diapers. After the protests intensified, the proposal to impose tax on ‘bread’ was dropped, but the protesters are still demanding that the new bill not be passed.

Human Rights Commission took cognizance of the firing
Kenya’s Human Rights Commission on Tuesday shared a video of the firing on protesters and said these officers would be held responsible. The Human Rights Commission has posted on ‘X’ against President William Ruto. The Commission wrote, ‘The world is watching you moving towards tyranny, democracy has been attacked under your government. All those directly or indirectly involved in firing on protesters should be held accountable.
