Garisenda Tower, also known as ‘Leaning Tower’, located in Bologna, Italy. Now the risk of falling has increased due to excessive bending. In view of this, the government has issued a high alert in the city. According to the report, this tower is the tallest tower in the city.

The 150-foot-high Garisenda Tower has been standing since the 12th century. It is inclined at 4 degrees. After investigation last month, the Civil Defense team said, ‘This tower can fall any time, which can cause huge devastation in the city.’ Considering the danger posed by this, the government is taking all security measures. To prevent the debris of this tower, metal circles are being installed around it.

The cordon will be installed on the ground and will have a specially designed rock-fall prevention net, an official said. A 27-page report that had visited this site since 2019 has been shared with CNN, in which the possibility of the tower’s collapse was also raised. In view of this, ‘high alert’ continues in the city.

Site monitoring over the past month has revealed that the tower’s base is sinking and cracks are growing in the bricks above it due to “high compression.” Issuing a ‘high alert’, officials cordoned off the area around the tower and closed all roads leading to it.
