The results of the four assembly elections of India are being given a lot of coverage in the foreign media. American newspaper New York Times has described the victory in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan as part of BJP’s strengthening credibility before 2024. The newspaper writes, “These results were another blow to India’s main opposition party, the Indian National Congress.”

The report quoted political analyst Aarti Jerath as saying, “These results will be a big advantage for BJP in 2024.”

‘Modi popular even after a decade’

News agency Reuters wrote that despite being in power for a decade, Modi remains popular in the country. Apart from this, survey data shows that he will win next year’s elections also. News agency AFP reported that victory in three states has given further edge to BJP and Modi.

‘BJP’s base strengthened by schemes like Ram Mandir’

The Financial Times, citing political experts, said that the election results show the weak position of the Congress. Referring to Ram Temple, the New York Times report claims that Modi already has a big plan to further strengthen his support base. Apart from this, it has been written that Modi has presented himself as a champion of Hindu interests.
