Maldives Former President Nasheed Became CVF General Secretary And Shifts To Ghana

Former President of Maldives Mohammed Nasheed has now shifted to the African country Ghana. Recently he had announced his freedom from active politics. On Tuesday night on X, Nasheed told that he is starting a new journey as the General Secretary of Climate Vulnerable Forum. For this reason he has reached Accra, the capital of Ghana. CVF is an international partnership of countries sensitive to global warming. The organization was established in 2009.

At the same time he further said that Ghana was hosting the CVF Secretariat. Ghana will now be my home for a few years. This will hopefully unlock needed investments that can drive clean growth and climate prosperity. According to media reports, Nasheed was the President of Maldives from 2008 to 2012. He has also been the Speaker of the Parliament from 2019 to 2023. Parliament’s communications director Hassan Ziaou said no information had been received that Nasheed was going to Ghana.
