MPs wrote a letter regarding attacks on Hindus and vandalism of temples in America

Washington: There has been an increase in criminal incidents against Hindus in America and incidents of vandalism in temples have also increased. Many such reports have come to light where Hindus have been specifically targeted. Now MPs have expressed concern about this. Five Indian-American lawmakers in the US have sought details from the Justice Department and the Federal Investigation Agency (FBI) on the increase in “hate crimes against Hindus” and incidents of temple vandalism in the country this year. These MPs include Raja Krishnamurthy, Ro Khanna, Shri Thanedar, Pramila Jayapal and Ami Bera.

No trace of suspects

Indian-American lawmakers wrote to Kristen Clarke of the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department, “The incidents of attacks on temples from New York to California have deeply concerned Hindu Americans.” Leaders have expressed concern that there is no trace of the suspects involved in these incidents, forcing many people to live in fear and terror.

People are worried and upset

On behalf of Indian-American MPs, it was said that the Hindu community is worried and upset about legal action in these discriminatory crimes. The question in their mind is whether the federal agency is conducting proper surveillance to ensure equal protection under the law? The letter says, “The events and the timing of their commission raise questions about their intentions.” Let’s do it.” There are currently five Indian-American MPs in the House of Representatives. It is very rare to see all five MPs come together on an issue.

Continuous attacks on Hindu temples

It should also be mentioned here that in the beginning of the year 2024, pro-Khalistan slogans were written on ‘Sherawali Temple’ in California. A few days before this, an incident of theft had also taken place in Shiv Durga Temple in California. Swami Narayan Temple was also attacked in California. (Language)
