In fact, Narendra Modi is only the second Prime Minister to visit the Central European nation of Austria in more than 41 years. Earlier in 1983, Indira Gandhi had visited Austria. PM Modi told the Indians, democracy connects both India and Austria. Despite being at two different ends geographically, there are many similarities between the two countries. Freedom, equality, pluralism and respect for the rule of law are our shared values. The societies of both countries are multicultural and multilingual.

First trip to Austria was meaningful
PM Modi said, 650 million people voted in the recently held elections and the results were declared within a few hours. This is the power of our electoral democracy. India has always given peace and prosperity to the world. India will celebrate 100 years of its independence as a developed nation in 2047. Today, India is working towards achieving the best, the brightest, the greatest and reaching the highest milestones. Before leaving for home, Prime Minister Modi described his first visit to Austria as ‘meaningful’.

India is doing great work in every field- PM Modi
PM Modi said, ‘India is doing excellent work today in terms of education, research and skills. In 10 years, two new colleges will open every day in India. A new university opens every week. Last year, more than 250 patents were granted every day. India today is the third largest start up eco system in the world. Today every 10th unicorn in the world is in India. More real-time digital transactions take place in India alone than in the rest of the world. Our payments and processes are digital. India is moving towards sheet equipped economy. We are preparing India for a green future today. Austria is also benefiting from this development journey of India. More than 150 Austrian companies are working in India.
